aqua girl

the morning news makes nice little stories mon-fri. this monday they had a team track characters from the editor's neighborhood (danny gregory did the drarings). the first character is features tips me off that we live in the same hood. i call her 'aqua girl', but the story convinces me that everyone's got a different name for her. she's obviously made this little white and aqua blue get-up herself, it is detailed with fun stitchery. it is all she wears.

well, how do we know this for sure since we'd probably not notice her sans suit. she sort of proves the point that if you want notoriety, it is fairly easy to get. just wear the same thing all the time (or some such gimmick) et voila. where you are at, i'm not exactly sure. maybe you just need the craddle of recognition to help nurture your own sense of identity in this high metabolism city. coming from....well anywhere else in the US, new york can be daunting when you realize no one was waiting for you to come and no one is here to make it easier on you. likewise, no one is going out of their way to make it especially more difficult on you. it'll grow you up right quick with a strong survival sense or you'll reach for the eject button (because let's face it, no one is going to take the time to kick you out either).

i'd bet this article was already found by people who know her and passed on. i bet this made her very happy.

ok back to my sick bed for more swirling visions. i resent my cold for being so typical (millions suffer at the change of seasons on my block alone).
