jarbled

Cranes are saturating my mental landscape these days. Emdot passes on word that they are featured in National Geography (april issue not on stands here yet- drats!). Later that day, I find myself in the belly of CBS studios checking out their vacuum forming machine (drool)...what is the lone project on the woodshop table? I cannot express to the machinists how badly I want to take a pictie of their giant hobbled crane (his wooden legs were broken, glue surgery with duct tape splints ensued), without loosing some hard earned cred. Perhaps I have a short girl's complex ( think I would have taken it if I were 5'11") ? Maybe I wouldn't worry about being perceived as silly if I didn't wear more than three piggy tails?

Sherry likewise has a new reoccuring obsession: Clementine of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Must admit that Ezzie and I were laughing more than our fair share while watching our loftmate being reinacted on the big screen (note that Clementine has a mug with a picture of herself). Topics around the loft as of late stitch in and out of reality without any clear distinguishment (if it's not a word already, it is now) of which side is which or where the boundary even lies if it indeed exists...Did someone who knows Gondry or Kaufman once rub shoulders with our own Sherry Wong? Are there more of her out there? What does Clementine's relationship with Joel tell us about the time Sherry tried to seduce our other more sheltered housemate? Where does one get a personalized mug these days?

Here we see Sherry flipping that coin again, complete with orange sweatshirt + blue hair

Weekend spent the dime of time on housecalls to friends. Having a car meant a painless trip up to the Upper West Side (maybe two miles as the crow flies, but underground you've got 2 trains + 11 million people between here and there) to visit the Champ + his/my lady friend- SlimJen (ok, I sort of take her over when we four hang out, she's good times and I should send the Champ a thank you card for picking out a new friend for me). The Woodsman was in town for some archery competition so we crossed the Park to take the Chocolate Martini challenge.

And a petite video filmed through the sunroof whilst rolling through Manhattan. One day I'd like to know how to stitch them together and maybe even find out how to make a tidy little window for a theater on the screen. Oo la la! Enjoy the link while it lasts...oh and send any know how on the topic to yours truly. thanks.

The Brasserie at the Base of Mies's Seagrams Building (and next door to Jackie O's favorite: the Four Seasons)...designed by Diller + Scofidio -who get to install robots on conveyor belts in the Whitney Museum and call it architecture.

The Reverend Moon called in with a suggestion to take some picties of the surveillance projection after a traunce through the restaurant's catwalk. SlimJen + Bean take two rounds through the doors to ensure the timelapse capture.

Brunching it up at local favorite, Oznot's Dish, reminds us that we need to make good on thoughts for our own Sunday Jazz Brunch at the Loft.

We've got the drums... add trumpet, bass, and bloody marys.
