making sun
Couldn't quite manage another weekend rendez-vous in London to experience Olafur Eliasson's awesome artificial sun installation at the new Tate. But reading the diary of a Tate Modernista satiates some of my questions about how folks interacted with the space...the answer involves impromptu protests, improv dance, picnics and troups of Santa Clausians. It's a happy read.
Omar + Lizbeth arrived last night chez bean with brewable treats and pictures/slides/videos/stories yet to be shared. They rejected the idea of a tired bean ready for bed at 10 pm (who ever heard of such a thing), a hard sell to architecture students eh? We sort of hogged the baton in giving the download on our world. But now they've got a smattering of info on metal machining, vacuum forming, derivatives, options, equities, prototypes, streetway hierarchy, city grid logic, selling art, and dealing with an elitist cat. I think it started with the "but I mean where do you work bean?" question. They are already out in the snow (with no jackets!)- Lizbeth pulled some several miracles and has them booked at a half dozen architecture studios today. Go go g-O! Good thing they brought that italian coffee so I can keep up proper.
